Ciprofloxacin Hydrochloride I.P.
Equivalent to Ciprofloxacin I.P. 10% w/w

Pharmacodynamics:

Ciprofloxacin functions by inhibiting DNA gyrase, a type II topoisomerase and topoisomerase IV enzymes necessary to separate bacterial DNA, thereby inhibiting cell division.

Pharmacokinetics

V- Ciprol contains Ciprofloxacin, is Bactericidal for gram-negative bacteria, and Mycoplasmas at low concentrations.

V- Ciprol possesses concentration dependent Bactericidal effect and thereby kills the rapidly multiplying bacteria at much faster rate, leading to quicker recovery from infections.

V- Ciprol after oral administration is highly absorbed from the gut and reaches the maximum plasma concentration within a hour and then it distributes efficiently to target tissues, especially lung, liver and kidney.

V- Ciprol maintains higher intracellular concentrations and thereby effectively kills intracellular bacteria such as Mycoplasma and Salmonella.

V- Ciprol is a drug of choice in treatment of

• Mycoplasmosis (CRD) and mixed infections of Mycoplasma and bacteria (CRD Complex)
• Colisepticaemia (E.coli)
• Fowl Cholera (Pasturella)
• Fowl Typhoid (Salmonella)
• Infectious Coryza (Haemophilus)
• Treatment of secondary bacterial infections in viral diseases
